What should I do my British Literature paper?

For my British Literature course I have to do a research paper. It has to be about a major event, culture movement, music, sports etc. I want to do it on something that interests me. I was thinking about doing it on Andrew Lloyd Webber. Or if even doing it on one of the greatest plays he wrote in 'The Phantom of the Opera'. But would that be appropriate? Your opinions.
