Would it be wise not to kiss the wife until her periodontal disease is cleared up?

I have good oral hygiene and recently got a good grade from the dentist. My wife, not so much. I notice if I kiss her I get a cottony mouth the next day and have to gargle with Scope like heck. How can I tell her I'll do her, but I don't want to kiss.
